Websites for Artists
As an artist, do you need a website??
There are many options out there. Besides websites there’s social media, Etsy, Artwork Archive, etc. and you may not need one right away. I believe it’s a good idea to have one eventually to have web presence.
I researched and spoke to several artists and compiled this list to share:
Squarespace is popular and fairly easy to use. They have add-ons such as commerce, scheduling, digital products and email marketing. The latest version has drag and drop templates. There are a few limits to functionality based on templates. https://www.squarespace.com/
Wix, very similar to Squarespace. But they do have customer support 24/7 which Squarespace does not. https://www.wix.com/
FASO- Created for artists. Simple and easier to use than Wix and Squarespace but not as customizable. Also has print-on-demand, marketing guidance and email marketing. https://www.faso.com/
Icompendium- Also created for artists, by an artist and very easy to use. It does have shopping availability. The only drawback I could find is the print is small so it may be hard to read. https://icompendium.com/
